Dive teams have recovered the body of a man who went underwater and failed to resurface Sunday afternoon at Lake Pleasant.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Lake Patrol teams spent 30 minutes searching for the swimmer before deputies had to be called in around 4:30 p.m. Crews also utilized an underwater robot to search for the man in about 50- to 60-feet deep water.

MCSO spokesman Joaquin Enriquez confirmed Monday morning that diving crews recovered the body of the 42-year-old man around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night. The man's name has not been released.

According to Enriquez, initial reports indicate the man was "boat hopping" from several boats as they were tied together. The man reportedly slipped off one of the boats and refused help to be pulled back on board, insisting he was fine to swim.

Shortly after, the man was reported missing by friends in Humbug Cove, located at the north end of Lake Pleasant.

Enriquez said no foul play is suspected but the case is still under investigation.
