Peoria police have arrested a man and woman in connection with a deadly shooting on Monday.

Just before 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in a parking lot near 91st and Olive avenues.

As officers arrived, they located 26-year-old Jaime Guerrero suffering from a single gunshot wound. Guerrero, a Phoenix resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Guerrero and 30-year-old Christopher Mott of Peoria were in an argument over a woman when Guerrero reportedly reached for a gun.

Mott then allegedly shot Guerrero.

According to police, the woman involved, 26-year-old Haley Mullinix of Phoenix, reportedly took the gun from Guerrero and hid it nearby.

Police say Mott was arrested on scene, interviewed and was later released pending further investigation.

Mullinix was also taken into custody for hindering prosecution.

Police say there may be amendments or additions to Mullinix and Mott's charges.
