After crashing a stolen Camaro and fleeing from troopers, a 22-year-old man was arrested after police canines tracked him down.

According to court paperwork, a man had parked his red Chevrolet Camaro in front of his brother's house near 79th Avenue and Hazelwood Street and had left the keys in the ignition on Monday.

The victim was with his brother in the driveway when Jamil Shaquielle Chambers approached them and pulled out a pistol from his waistband. Chambers ordered the men to the ground and pointed the pistol at their heads; he also kicked one of the men in the face.

Chambers then got into the vehicle and drove away. Later on, the Arizona Department of Public Safety saw the stolen vehicle traveling at a high speed of rate southbound on Loop 101 from Bell Road. A DPS unit tried to stop the vehicle that fled from the scene.

Chambers, who was observed sitting in the driver's seat, exited the freeway at Peoria Avenue and crashed into two other cars. At that moment, five individuals ran out of the stolen Camaro.

Police later tracked down Chambers with a canine unit about two hours after the crash. The four juveniles, who were in the vehicle with Chambers and were later located, told police the man had picked them up.

Chambers was arrested and faces one count of armed robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated assault.
