The Department of Public Safety says a hit and run driver is being questioned after a pedestrian was killed near the Loop 101 Agua Fria and Thunderbird Road late Friday night.
DPS says a pedestrian was walking on the side of the road and stepped into traffic in the area. The pedestrian was hit after stepping into traffic, and after the crash the driver left the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition but didn’t survive.
The alleged driver was later tracked down and is being questioned by DPS.
DPS has not said whether or not that driver will be arrested, and has not released the identity of the pedestrian.
