A man is Goodyear faces sexual abuse charges after allegedly having sex with a teen girl.
Michael Anthony Romero, 40, was arrested and booked into jail on Tuesday under suspicion of child molestation and sexual abuse.
In court documents, he admitted to police that he had sex twice with the 13-year-old and knew the relationship went too far.
The investigation began a week prior when the victim's mother noticed "disturbing text messages" between Romero and her daughter on a cell phone. The mother then contacted police.
After his arrest, Romero told police that he loved the victim and then requested an attorney.
