GOODYEAR, AZ — An armed robbery suspect who was shot trying to rob a fireworks stand Wednesday night has died, according to Goodyear police.

The incident happened around 9:00 p.m. near Cotton Lane and Yuma Road.

Police say the suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Daniel Torres, of Buckeye, was transported to the hospital in serious condition and later died.

Officers are still looking for his female accomplice who fled the scene. She is described as a Hispanic woman in her late twenties to early thirties, about 5' 9" tall and 150 pounds. Police say she left the scene in a gold Honda ULX with Arizona license plate LAG50.

That vehicle was found unoccupied Friday, Goodyear police said. The woman had yet to be apprehended.
