Search on for man who shot at Glendale police

Authorities are searching for the suspect who fired shots at officers and a store in Glendale.

According to Glendale police, 18-year-old David Romero fired shots at a convenience store around 7:00 a.m. on Saturday near 63rd Avenue and Maryland Avenue.

While officers were responding to the scene, Romero reportedly ran from the area and fired shots in the direction of officers near 67th Avenue and Maryland.

A witness at a bus stop in the area saw Romero firing the shots and was able to provide a description to officers.

Romero's car was spotted at an apartment nearby. Police set up a perimeter, but Romero was able to get away.

Police say no officers or citizens were struck by gunfire.

Detectives were able to contact Romero's family and friends. Police say he told his family that he wanted to harm himself.

Police have not located Romero and believe he may be armed.
