Police say one driver has died and another was taken to the hospital after a crash Saturday night in Glendale.

The crash prompted a closure on 51st Avenue between Northern and Olive avenues around 9 p.m.

The roads reopened shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday.

Glendale police said a male driver was traveling in a white pickup truck and drove into oncoming traffic, crashing head-on with a woman driving a sedan.

The woman was pronounced dead, and the man is expected to be OK, police said. Their identities have not been released.

Investigators said impairment may have played a factor in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
