Police are investigating a deadly car accident involving a flatbed truck in Glendale.
Officers responded to the area of 59th and Northern avenues around 5 p.m. Thursday after receiving reports about a two-car crash.
According to officials, a car rear-ended a flatbed truck. The driver of the car, 42-year-old Marcus Zaffina, was driving a passenger vehicle when the Glendale resident came into contact with the truck. Zaffina passed away.
Police say distracted driving is being investigated at this time; speed and impairment do not appear to have played a role in the collision.
