GLENDALE, AZ — Police are looking for a man who broke into a Glendale home and injured a man inside before taking off with his car.

Glendale officials say the incident occurred in a neighborhood near 51st Avenue and Loop 101 Wednesday morning.

Two people inside the home heard a banging noise on the side of their house, following by breaking glass from their back door.

A man, armed with a handgun, entered the home and struggled with the homeowner, injuring him.

The suspect then demanded the keys to a vehicle and fled the scene.

Police say a woman was also inside the home at the time, but was not injured.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man about six feet tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap and dark-colored bandanna over his face. He had a dark-colored sweatshirt and handgun.

The stolen vehicle is a white 2018 Mazda CX5 SUV with Arizona plates "AVX1049."

Police are currently searching the area for the suspect and stolen vehicle.
