A series of crashes temporarily closed a portion of the Loop 101 northbound on the west side of the Valley.
The Arizona Department of Public Transportation says multiple crashes forced officials to close the freeway just past the Bethany Home Road exit.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said troopers were investigating, and there were an unspecified number of injuries. None were life-threatening, troopers said.
ADOT said traffic in the area was heavy and asked drivers to avoid the area. Officials said Loop 303 was an alternate route.
