Authorities are asking people to be on the lookout after reports of tampering with manhole covers near Dysart and Thunderbird roads.
The El Mirage Police Department says several manhole covers have been tampered with in the Rancho El Mirage community.
Officers asked people to watch for missing manholes or people messing with manholes. Those noticing suspicious activity are asked to call police at 623-500-3000.
An email to the department seeking further information was not immediately returned Monday night.
