The Department of Public Safety says a motorcyclist led troopers on a high-speed pursuit early Saturday morning before crashing into a sign in Buckeye.

DPS troopers reportedly attempted to stop the rider for several traffic violations near the westbound I-10 and Watson Road around 12:45 Saturday morning. The motorcyclist exited on Miller Road, and then got back on the freeway and tried to flee from the trooper.

Buckeye police and a DPS helicopter were also called to help in the pursuit as the suspect drove to State Route 85 going speeds of at least 110 miles per hour, according to DPS. Eventually DPS ground units stopped their pursuit, and the man crashed his motorcycle into a sign near Baseline and Miller roads.

The driver was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries and will be booked for DUI and unlawful flight.
