An Avondale mother who is accused of drowning her twin 2-year-old boys in a bathtub at the end of August has pleaded not guilty.
The Avondale Police Department said the children's mother Mireya Alejandra Lopez, 22, told police she intentionally drowned both of her kids in a bathtub, and also attempted to drown another child in the home.
She was stopped by the family and the third child did not suffer any injuries, police said.
Mireya Lopez appeared in court Tuesday and entered a not guilty plea.
Her next court date is November 5.
