TEMPE, AZ — On the first weekend back on Arizona State University's campus, Tempe police issued numerous citations for parties over the weekend.
Officials say weekend patrols responded to large parties or gatherings and issued a total of nine party citations, with six of them being student-related.
Police say the patrols are intended to educate and/or enforce laws while at a gathering.
Citations are most often issued for noise disturbances, underage drinking, or unlawful parking violations, according to Tempe PD.
Tempe police say they are also working closely with ASU PD to ensure CDC guidelines on social distancing and Tempe's mask requirements are being followed.
