TEMPE, AZ — A Fry’s Food Stores employee in Tempe has tested positive for coronavirus, according to a company spokesperson.

Kroger confirmed to ABC15 Friday morning that an associated at the McClintock Drive and Baseline Road location tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee has reportedly been quarantined and is not currently working, in accordance with CDC guidelines, the spokesperson said.

Associates who worked closely with the coronavirus patient have been notified and the areas known or potentially contacted by the associate have been deep-cleaned.

“We work hard to maintain a clean environment in our facilities and have rigorous sanitation procedures in place to prevent the spread of illness to the fullest extent possible. We will continue to enforce our already-strict preventive sanitation and safety measures in all our locations,” the spokesperson said in a message.

No further information was given about the store or employee who tested positive.
