A child has been taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition after being pulled from a backyard pool.

Crews responded to a home near McClintock and Guadalupe around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Firefighters were called after an 11-year-old girl was found by a family member at the bottom of the pool.

Family members got her out of the water and started CPR before paramedics arrived, according to the Tempe Fire Department.

Officials said Thursday morning the girl was still in critical condition.

Video from Air15 showed there was no fence around the pool.

Further information about the incident was not immediately available.
