Police are asking the public to help identify a man who was found dead in Tempe Town Lake about two weeks ago.

Officials are still investigating the man's death and trying to figure out why or how the man got into the lake.

On January 14, Tempe police said two people who were walking across the Scottsdale Road bridge spotted a body in the lake. The two individuals then waved down a pontoon boat. Those who were aboard the boat called 911.

When officers arrived on the scene they found a man's body in the middle of the lake near Scottsdale Road and Rio Salado Parkway.

Police say the man was fully dressed, wearing a backpack and had probably been in the lake for at least a couple of days.

He's described as being between the ages of 35 and 50 and about 6 feet, 1 inch to 6 feet, 3 inches tall. The man was bald with brown eyes, and had extensive dental work done.

Anyone who may have any information is encouraged to contact the Tempe Police Department.
