TEMPE, AZ — A woman who was found dead with her 4-month-old son at their Tempe apartment on Saturday likely had a "heart event" and collapsed on the boy, suffocating him, officials said Monday.

Police say they were called to the residence near McClintock Drive and Baseline Road around 5 p.m.

Crews on scene discovered 38-year-old Larinique Meadows and 4-month-old Denari Meadows dead inside the home.

Tempe police believe Larinique suffered some type of heart event just before the incident. Records show that she had been searching the internet for symptoms of chest pain.

Police believe Larinique may have collapsed on Denari and suffocated him. Authorities say the medical examiner's office will determine the official causes of death.

Officers say the father found the pair downstairs in the home after waking up, and is cooperating with police.

A GoFundMe has been set up by family to help with funeral costs.
