The Pat's Run race is managed by the Pat Tillman foundation and the proceeds raised from the race benefit veterans and their spouses, according to the Pat's Run website.
Friday marks the 12th anniversary of Pat Tillman's death. Tillman was an Arizona Cardinals player who joined the U.S. Army after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Tillman was killed by friendly fire while in Afghanistan.
