Authorities say a driver who led state troopers on a pursuit through several Valley freeways on Tuesday is in custody.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the pursuit started before 8 p.m. near I-17 and Cactus Road.
Troopers pursued the driver south, through downtown Phoenix before finally getting the vehicle to stop on the US-60 heading toward the Southeast Valley.
Officials said the suspect, an 85-year-old man, was taken into custody between Rural Road and McClintock Drive.
The suspect has various health and mental health issues and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Officials do not believe the suspect, whose name is not yet being released, will face any charges.
