Sky Harbor International Airport is resuming normal operations after a "suspicious item" prompted an investigation by police, an airport spokeswoman said.
Police were called to Sky Harbor’s Terminal 4 Wednesday night after receiving reports about a suspicious item.
An unattended bag was found on the west end of Terminal 4, a police spokesperson said.
As a precaution during the investigation Security Checkpoints A and D were closed, an airport spokeswoman said.
Around 10 p.m. Sky Harbor employees were allowed back into the closed area, however, it remained closed to the public.
Additionally, the eastbound ramp on the west end of the terminal was also closed, airport officials said.
No additional information was immediately available.
Have someone to pick up from Terminal 4 tonight? We recommend taking the PHX Sky Train and using the 44th Street & Washington PHX Sky Train Station. The Level 1 and 2 west end curbs of Terminal 4 are currently closed while Police investigate a suspicious item.
