TEMPE, AZ — Arizona State University police have made an arrest after two female students reported being fondled near two of the University's parking garages in August.

Ronald Lowry, 40, was arrested and booked into jail on Monday, Oct. 14, a spokesperson for ASU Police confirmed to ABC15 on Tuesday. He was booked on charges of assault, shoplifting, and criminal trespass (an unrelated incident, police said).

The spokesperson added that Lowry had no affiliation with the University.

According to ASU police, on the morning of Aug. 16, 2019, a female student reported that a man reached around her and touched her butt under her skirt near Rural Road and Lemon Street. Less than 30 minutes after the first report, police received another report from another female student that a man allegedly wrapped his hands around her waist and touched her butt.

The second incident occurred near the parking structure near McAllister Avenue and Tyler Street, police said, which is less than a half-mile from where the first incident happened.

At the time, police said they believed the same person was involved in both incidents.
