A San Tan Valley man has been arrested for sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend and holding her hostage for two days, Pinal County Sheriff's officials said Monday.

PCSO spokesman Tim Gaffney said deputies were called to Mountain Vista Hospital Saturday night after a woman reported that she had been physically and sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend while she was held against her will at his apartment.

The victim told officials after agreeing to visit Drew Morrison's home on Tuesday, she attempted to leave on Friday, but Morrison slapped her, grabbed her by her hair, and handcuffed her. He then sexually assaulted her and refused to let her leave.

Later that night while Morrison was distracted, the victim was reportedly able to get to her car and drive to the hospital.

According to Gaffney, a search of Morrison's home turned up evidence helping to confirm the victim's account of events.

Morrison was taken into custody and booked for kidnapping, sexual assault and aggravated assault.
