After hitting and killing a pedestrian in Mesa overnight, a driver who fled the scene is now in jail.
Mesa Police say a pedestrian was struck while crossing Alma School on Main Street around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday.
The pickup truck that struck the pedestrian fled the scene, but witnesses were able to follow the driver.
Police located the suspect driver and vehicle and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was booked into jail for leaving the scene of a deadly crash.
The victim's identity has not yet been released by police.
