A 2-year-old boy pulled from a Mesa pool on Saturday afternoon has died, officials say.
Dangelo Mendoza was found in the pool just before 2 p.m. Saturday at a home near Dobson and Guadalupe roads. It is unclear how long he was under water.
Mendoza passed away Sunday evening at the hospital, Mesa police spokesman Steve Berry said.
An investigation into the drowning is ongoing, but Berry said there are no charges pending at this time.
The incident marks the 10th deadly drowning involving a Valley child so far this year.
