Police say no officers were injured in Tuesday afternoon's incident near Gilbert Road and Southern Avenue.
The man was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being shot twice in the upper body.
Police say the man repeatedly rammed the vehicles of undercover agents who had swarmed him in a parking lot and that led to the shooting.
