A Mesa man could be facing a prison sentence for allegedly giving heroin to a victim who later died after overdosing.

Federal prosecutors say 32-year-old Daniel George Luntraru has been indicted by an Arizona grand jury of several crimes related to heroin trafficking including one count of distribution of heroin resulting in death.

Prosecutors say that under federal law, that offense carries a minimum sentence of 20 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison upon conviction.

Luntraru allegedly gave heroin to the unidentified man in March 2015.

Authorities say Luntraru also is accused of possessing or distributing heroin within Arizona on four different occasions last month and this month.

It was unclear Thursday is Luntraru has a lawyer yet for his case.
