The Gilbert Police Department is investigating two deaths stemming from an apparent murder-suicide.
Authorities received reports last Wednesday about an armed man acting irrationally inside a home near Baseline Road and Val Vista Drive. The man was later identified as 27-year-old Patrick Kaye.
Maria Kaye, 62, was also at the residence at the time of the incident, officials said.
Police learned this information after speaking with 60-year-old Robert Kaye, who informed police that his adult son Patrick was inside the home with his wife Maria.
After entering the home, the officers discovered both Patrick and Maria deceased.
It's unknown whether the woman is Patrick's mother or stepmother.
Police say this is likely a domestic violence-related murder-suicide, but they are continuing to investigate.
No additional information was immediately released by police.
