GILBERT, AZ — Police say an 82-year-old woman was hit and killed by a vehicle in Gilbert early Monday morning.
The incident occurred after 5 a.m. near Gilbert and Warner roads.
Police and fire crews attempted life-saving efforts at the scene, but the woman succumbed to her injuries.
The driver who hit the woman stayed at the scene.
It's unclear what led to the crash and police say it's still under investigation.
