Gilbert Police and Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene of a serious traffic collision near Baseline and Lindsay roads in Gilbert Saturday afternoon.
Fire officials said in a tweet that the incident occurred sometime after 7 p.m. when a motorcyclist collided with a passenger car.
Police on scene confirmed to ABC15 that the man, later identified as Vernon Gillespie, had died of his injuries.
Gilbert Police say this is an ongoing investigation, and will provide updates when possible.
