Officials are investigating a deadly crash on the Loop 202 Santan at Gilbert Road overnight.
Preliminary information suggests that the sides of two vehicles made contact while driving eastbound on the freeway, causing one of the vehicles to lose control and hit a pole.
The driver reportedly passed away at the hospital.
The second vehicle's driver was not seriously hurt.
Officials say impairment is not believed to be a factor for the second driver, however, they have not confirmed if the driver that was killed was under any influence.
The freeway was closed for the investigation but reopened around 2 a.m. Thursday.
