A golf cart driver is lucky to be safe after sputtering along the Interstate 10 with no headlights early Wednesday morning.

Video from Arizona Department of Transportation traffic cameras showed the golf cart slowly driving on the I-10 near Wild Horse Pass around 4 a.m. The cart had no headlights while other westbound drivers sped past.

One vehicle was seen following the cart with its emergency lights on and soon after, a semi truck also helped escort the cart before troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety arrived.

Troopers eventually stopped the cart on the side of the freeway. DPS says the driver of the cart, an 83-year-old man, showed no signs of impairment during the incident.

His wife arrived at the scene to pick up the man and the cart.

At this time, there is no word on why the cart was out on the freeway.
