A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a car in Chandler Friday morning.

Police responded to the area of Price and Queen Creek roads around 7:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a collision.

A man, identified by police as 44-year-old Robert Foster, was hit by a vehicle and taken to a hospital where he later died of his injuries, a police spokesman said. He is believed to have been jogging at the time of the crash.

At this time, neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the crash.

An investigation remains ongoing and the pedestrian's name wasn't immediately available.
