Police are on the hunt for an armed robbery suspect they say is targeting Chandler residents.

Sgt. Joseph Favazzo said the suspect was seen around 6 p.m. Saturday outside of Nancy's clothing store near Ray Road and Arizona Avenue where he began to follow a victim to a nearby Savers parking lot.

Once the victim was near his car, the suspect pointed a gun at him and demanded money, Favazzo said.

The suspect then fled in a small silver or light brown sedan.

As police investigated, it was learned that the same suspect had approached another victim in the same area, but the victim quickly left when it appeared the suspect was about to rob him. The suspect left in the same small sedan.

Favazzo said police believe the suspect may be targeting residents cashing paychecks or shopping in the area.

The suspect is described as a Hipanic male, between 18 and 20 years old, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall, medium build, with black hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and dark shorts.

If you have any information about the suspect, you're encouraged to call the Chandler Police Department at 480-782-4130.
