The Hamilton High School football team will have a new coach for the 2017-2018 football season.

It was announced Thursday that Dick Baniszewski, who was recently named interim coach, will continue as the head coach for the fall season.

Steve Belles took over as coach for the Huskies in 2006, but was “reassigned” after several football players were taken into custody over hazing allegations.

Belles will continue with the school as a teacher for the 2017-2018 school year, but will not have any connection to the football team.

The Chandler Unified School District says the move is "not disciplinary in nature."

Baniszewski spoke at the team's practice Thursday.

"Life is about responding to adversity. Adversity does not make appointments," Baniszewski said. "We're going to move kids forward and do things right and get things done and keep Hamilton playing good football."
