A former teacher in the Chandler Unified School District has been sentenced to 11 years in prison and three years of probation in connection with a deadly crash in December 2014.

Erica Flynn pled guilty in February to one count of manslaughter and one count of endangerment after running through a red light and hitting a vehicle on Arizona Avenue near the Loop 202. The driver of the car Flynn hit, identified as Kathlee Mae Searcy, was pronounced dead before fire crews could pull her from her vehicle.

Court documents show Flynn's blood alcohol level was .283 in tests done at the hospital after the crash. Investigators said she was driving roughly 75 miles per hour at the time of impact.

Before the crash, Flynn worked as a teacher at Frye Elementary School.
