Chandler police searching for sexual assault suspect from 2014

Chandler police are asking for the public's help in identifying a sexual assault suspect from 2014.

According to police, in August of 2014, a 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the parking lot of the Basha Library, near Riggs Road and Val Vista Drive.

The suspect, who is described as a man between 18 to 25 years of age, arrived at the library in a vehicle and approached the victim as she stood in front of the library.

The victim reportedly walked with the suspect to his vehicle as she believed he needed help with his homework. 

Once in the vehicle, the victim was sexually assaulted. 

Police say the victim revealed the assault to a health care professional in June of 2017. 

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned man, over 5 feet 8 inches tall, and was wearing a flannel shirt, baggy jeans, and tennis shoes at the time of the attack.

Investigators say the suspect also spoke with poor English, using improper words.
