Authorities say a man has died after being hit crossing the street Tuesday morning.
Chandler police say the 47-year-old man was crossing the road on an electric scooter near Arizona Avenue and the Loop 202 San Tan Freeway when he was hit by a pickup truck as it turned from the off-ramp onto southbound Arizona Ave.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a police spokesperson.
Authorities said neither excessive speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
No further information was immediately available.
