Smoke and flames were seen billowing into the sky Sunday afternoon after two trailers caught fire in Mesa, according to the Rural Metro Fire Department.
Officials said no one was inside when the double-wide trailers went up in flames shortly after 6 p.m. near Main Street and Crismon Road.
When firefighters arrived, both trailers were fully engulfed in flames and one had completely collapsed. The fire had spread to some tires and garbage surrounding the abandoned trailers in the storage lot.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is working to determine whether this is arson. No injuries were reported in the fire.
