WANTED: Phoenix police searching for Carlos Pacheco in connection to April homicide

PHOENIX - Phoenix police are asking for the public’s help in locating 27-year-old Carlos Pacheco, wanted in connection to a homicide that happened in April.

On April 24 officers were called to a west Valley hospital around 11:30 a.m. where a man walked in with a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as 18-year-old Joe Acosta, died shortly after he got to the hospital.  

Officers learned that the shooting occurred near 64th Avenue and Van Buren Street at an abandoned property where stolen cars and shooting evidence was recovered. 

Police say they’ve developed probable cause to arrest Pacheco in the homicide, who they’ve not yet been able to locate. Police also believe another unidentified male was also involved in the shooting. 

Pacheco is described as 5'9", 175 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
