Protests outside the US Foods facility in west Phoenix have now entered the second day.

Thursday, as many as 200 protestors showed up near 43rd Avenue and Buckeye Road.

The workers are demanding better health benefits and are also accusing US Foods of not wanting to hire union members and also not giving members fair representation.

Members of Local Teamsters 104 would not comment Friday morning.

US Foods released the following statement to ABC15:

We're disappointed that our represented employees at our Phoenix Distribution Center have chosen to take these actions, despite our ongoing efforts to work with the union to reach an agreement. Our priority right now is on ensuring that we can continue to serve our customers with minimal disruption. We remain open to having productive negotiations with the union to reach resolution in this issue.
