Police seek hit-and-run driver who killed 6-year-old girl in Phoenix

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a driver who struck and killed a 6-year-old girl Saturday night. 

The incident happened around 11 p.m. near 43rd and Maryland avenues.

Authorities say the girl and a 47-year-old woman were crossing 43rd Avenue when they were hit by a 2002-2006 Nissan Altima. The driver of the car did not stop and was last seen driving west on Maryland Avenue.

Both victims were taken to the hospital to be treated. The 6-year-old did not survive her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The woman suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries.
