Police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a deadly shooting in west Phoenix on Saturday morning.

According to Phoenix police, Kameron Taylor Johnson faces several charges in connection with the crime.

Around 1:45 a.m., officers responded to 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road where officers located 21-year-old Joshua Torres suffering from gunshot injuries inside a vehicle. He was later pronounced dead.

Police say Torres, an associate, and Johnson had met two suspects in the area to sell illegal drugs. During the deal, the suspects reportedly shot and killed Torres.

As the suspects fled the scene, police say Johnson fired shots at the suspects.

Johnson reportedly fled the area and then later turned himself into police. He was booked for murder, discharging a firearm within city limits, possession of drugs for sale and a weapons violation for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

Police say the two suspects at large are described as African American men who were last seen in a light-colored sedan.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Phoenix police or 480-WITNESS.
