PHOENIX — Police say a teenager is dead after a dispute led to a shooting in Phoenix late Wednesday night.
Officers were called to a home near 71st Avenue and Van Buren Street around 11:50 p.m. for reports of a domestic violence incident.
Police say 17-year-old Jesus Gutierrez and his 18-year-old girlfriend were involved in a verbal dispute at the time. During the dispute, a 20-year-old man identified by police as Crispin N. Acevedo shot Gutierrez.
The suspect fled the scene but was located Thursday morning after a search.
Gutierrez reportedly died from his injuries at the hospital.
Police have not yet released the name of the suspect.
