Police identify man shot and killed in Phoenix driveway

Officials are investigating after a woman found her husband shot in Phoenix on Monday morning. 

Phoenix police said a woman heard gunshots, walked outside of her house near 51st Avenue and Thunderbird Road and found her husband, 34-year-old Alan Saka, shot in the driveway. 

Saka was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Witnesses told police the victim opened the garage door to investigate a noise outside and got involved in an altercation with unknown suspects. 

A suspect description has not been released.

Saka's family says he and his wife moved to America from Iraq about five years ago so they could live safely together.

He leaves behind his wife and two young children.

Police say detectives are particularly reaching out to people in the neighborhood who may have seen an unknown person or unknown group of people walking in the area or evidence that their vehicle may have been broken into or rummaged through.
