PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a 27-year-old man was hit and killed while crossing the street mid-block Thursday night.
The incident occurred around 10:20 p.m. near 67th Avenue and Buckeye Road.
Police say the pedestrian, later identified as Zachary Gutierrez, was crossing 67th Avenue when he was hit by a southbound vehicle.
The driver reportedly stayed at the scene, while Gutierrez was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
No charges are pending at this time.
