A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday morning.
Phoenix fire report a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near 16th Street and Southern Avenue around 7 a.m.
Police say the pedestrian was crossing mid-block when she was struck.
The driver remained on scene and did not show signs of impairment.
According to the fire department, an off-duty Phoenix police officer was on scene and performed chest compressions on the victim until she could be transported to the hospital.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
