A bicyclist has died after collapsing on South Mountain Saturday morning.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, crews responded to the Desert Classic Trail for a report of a 54-year-old man suffering from chest pain.
As crews arrived, they learned that the man had collapsed and CPR efforts were underway.
Chandler and Tempe firefighters used a big wheel operation to remove the man off of the trailhead and was then taken to the hospital.
Fire officials say the man was with a large group of cyclists who helped lead firefighters to his location on the trail.
He died at the hospital later on Saturday.
