PHOENIX — Police say a 13-year-old boy is dead after he was shot by a 16-year-old in Phoenix Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to an apartment near 19th Avenue and Roeser Road around 11:15 a.m. for reports of an “accidental” shooting.
Detectives at the scene learned through their investigation that the victim, 13-year-old Arthur Miles, was visiting a friend’s house when the shooting occurred.
The friend, a 16-year-old boy, entered the bedroom where Miles was lying with a handgun and admitted to “antics” with the weapon. At that time, Miles was shot.
Miles was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition where he later died.
